The Dinner Co-op

My friends and I have just formed a dinner co-op, and let me tell you, I am sooo excited!!

There are different kinds of co-ops but our group takes turns making and delivering dinner to the other families.  My assigned night to make dinner is Tuesday, starting next week. We decided that instead of making a bunch of rules about what we can or can't do, we would start with what we definitely didn't want (liver was unanimously voted off the island) and then leave dinner decisions up to each chef.  So when it's my night to cook, I can decide what would constitute a complete meal (dessert is optional) and deliver enough for dinner (3 servings per family, which gives one extra serving for lunch the next day or a double portion for a very hungry stomach) to each of the 3 other families in my co-op.  One of the families lives upstairs, one lives 3 blocks away, and the 3rd lives 6 minutes away. Very easy commuting.
I can't wait to start!  I got the ideas from this book, which I purchased at Half Price Books.

For more information about starting your own co-op, here's a couple links to help get you started...

Why form a dinner co-op? Four delicous, freshly prepared dinners and all you have to do is cook one meal.  It doesn't get much simpler than that!
