poetry

You do not need to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. Do not even listen, simply wait, be quiet, still and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked, it has no choice, it will roll in ectasy at your feet.
Franz Kafka

i'm about to admit something horrible. in the time between high school and now, i forgot about poetry. isn't that tragic? thanks to my friend T, i was reunited at a poetry party. but unfortunately i quickly forgot again about how well poetry feeds the soul. M is always writing poetry. how fun! since i don't have the knack for that (i shudder when thinking of high school poetry assignments - painful), i decided to keep my eyes open for interesting tidbits, like my sister does. she is very literary so i'm sure she has an endless arsenal of poetry in her head and library. I only have winnie the pooh. which is lovely actually (that is what i chose to read at the poetry party), but i definitely have room for improvement. so i've been hoping to stumble across something this week to post, and i found it. i believe it's technically prose from a novel. but it reads like poetry, and that is enough.

  2. I love the quote, too. I put it in one of my many Journals... so I can read it often.
I also love Winnie The Pooh. In fact, it's one of my favorite books.

  3. Sorry if I let a cat out that you wanted to keep in the bag.
I love this quote, and I am so glad to see another window into you.
